I am 18 years old and a first time voter. I was inspired to make a video for Barack Obama based on a song I wrote, "Never Give In, Never Give Up" Please check the video out and use it if you like it. Thank you.

Any other thoughts or suggestions would be welcomed.

This little city of ours is growing by leaps and bounds, a constantly changing landscape and skyline. Whatever your particular relationship with Durham, I think we can all agree that we love this place and it gets a bad rap from outsiders! We would like to change that: thus, The Doughman was born...

The Doughman is a Self-propelled Gastronomic Tour of Durham, combining the elements of a triathlon with our other passion: great food. The event is a quadrathlon 4-person relay: each team member will be required to eat a "house speciality" at their relay stop, then bike or run to the next stop. One leg will also include a "water feature" to complete the trifecta of physical activity. Some of the best, most innovative and iconic Durham eateries have generously agreed to serve as our relay stops in the inaugural event: Fosters Market, Nosh, Luther's, Dains Place and LocoPops. The goal of The Doughman is to showcase the community spirit, great food, culture and historic landscape of our rejuvenating town. We are also doing our best to "green" the event - through the printers/tshirt vendors/partners/sponsors/etc we are using.

In that Durham-centric vein, The Doughman will also raise funds and awareness for an outstanding local non-profit organization: the Durham Inner-City Gardeners [DIG] of SEEDs. You may have seen them selling their wares at the Farmers Market. The work these kids do is amazing - from planning the garden to raising and harvesting crops to running the farmers market booth - and all within the confines of the urban landscape. It is a truly innovative youth program that does not get near the credit it deserves! [much like durham...]

That's where you come in: we need your help in spreading the word throughout the Durham community. We are looking for participants, volunteers, sponsors, donors, spectators and publicity!

The details: The Doughman will be held on Saturday, May 24 from 8am-11:30 (or until the last team finishes!) throughout Durham. The race will start at Foster's Market and end near the Farmer's Market, with a few stops along the way. Full race information and REGISTRATION can be accessed at www.doughman.org. We also have a facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=11279539924. And if that's not enough, just contact us at info@doughman.org!

Help us make this event a celebration of the best of Durham - her citizens in action to support a great cause. Thanks for your time, and don't hesitate to contact me for more information.
We hope to see you there!

Join thousands around the country for a call to action to our local and national governments to "step up" and address Global Warming. Bring your family, friends, strollers, bicycles, neighbors, and pets for a walk downtown to support action against climate change; this is our community's statement, help us make it a strong one. We will start our walk at Duke University's East campus (corner of Markham Ave. and Broad St.) at 11 am, and walk downtown for a group photo in front of Durham City Hall at noon. Durham is having the Durham Art Walk and the Full Frame Documentary festival downtown, as well as Duke's annual undergraduate reunion weekend, so there's a great opportunity for exposure to this cause. Come join your community and unite for climate action.
